    Aim2Flourish, the Real Deal, PeaceStartup
  • Where:
    Global, India, Colombia

In order to inspire and help business leaders and students learn from the experience of others PeaceNexus supports the discovery and showcasing of peace-conducive business models.

In India, we partner with the Real Deal the first Social Impact Investment TV show. Our collaboration enabled the organizers to also select and showcase social enterprises that contribute to peace and security. In 2016 the winners included: Iesha — an educational start-up working on gender-based violence Iesha); Saahas — a waste segregation and recycling company for its impact on reducing conflicts related to landfills; and LabourNet – an on-line recruitment company for its on economic inclusion for marginalised groups.

To showcase similar business models in other regions affected by social conflict, we are partnering with Aim2Flourish, a movement that celebrates business innovations for Global Good. The university-based initiative connects management students with business innovators and brings business models that promote the Sustainable Development Goals into the classroom. Our collaboration enables the participation of business schools from conflict-affected regions to develop case studies and compete for one of the SDG awards in 2017.

In order to also encourage the development of new peace-promoting enterprises PN supported the first Colombian PeaceStartup in Bogotá in 2015. The three-day events which have since then been held in other Colombian cities bring aspiring entrepreneurs, business people, peace-builders, development experts and others together in order to create and grow ventures for peace.
