Supporting the UN Peacebuilding Fund to start up in Niger
PeaceNexus initially provided support for the formulation of a Youth and Peacebuilding programme in the Tahoua region in south-west Niger as part of the Interim Recovery Facility mechanism, financed by the UN Peacebuilding Fund. PeaceNexus then facilitated dialogue between the Niger government, the UN country team and the PBSO. This led to Niger becoming eligible for more and longer-term funding from the UN Peacebuilding Recovery Facility (PRF). To help ensure that UN funds are used for strategic peacebuilding purposes, PeaceNexus is supporting the start-up process, including the conduct of a conflict analysis and identification of peacebuilding priorities.
