What we stand for
Building the Nexus: Practicing a holistic approach to peacebuilding PeaceNexus believes that peacebuilding requires the combined efforts of a wide range of international and local stakeholders, including from government, business and civil society. It is therefore important that all the projects we support work to build coalitions that collectively are better equipped to address violent conflict and support peaceful change.
Fostering tailored solutions PeaceNexus recognizes that peacebuilding solutions must be tailored to stakeholders’ needs and the context. We focus on organisations whose core-business could be strengthened if better informed of conflict dynamics and aligned with a peacebuilding processes. We explore ways that they can maximise their leverage in addressing problems and mobilising support for peace processes. For continuous improvement, we help generate evidence for learning and adaptation.
Working to catalyse change within and beyond organisations To maximise our impact, PeaceNexus identifies projects that have a potential multiplier effect. This can be within an organisation, for example by supporting an organisational change process to improve an organisation’s ability to understand and respond to conflict risk. It can also mean addressing a specific gap or problem that is blocking a change process.
Empowering innovators PeaceNexus aims to encourage experimentation and innovation in peacebuilding. Through the grant mechanism we enable innovators to try to realise and test their ideas and share their learning with others.
Cross-cutting values PeaceNexus activities are founded on values including the respect for human rights and the rule of law, local ownership, gender-equality, accountability and professionalism.
