Cord works to address the root causes of violence in its widest sense since 1967, inspired by the Christian message of fairness and peace, yet working with all faiths and none. Following a sustainable approach to peacebuilding, Cord aims to meet specific community needs and support relationships between government authorities and local communities with a conflict sensitive approach. Cord also creates programmes that promote dignity and empower individuals to organise into groups to lobby on behalf of their interests, working alongside in-country partners and grassroot organisations.
Cord approached PN with a request to support their strategic planning process, with a specific focus on the further operationalisation of their peacebuilding model across all programmes.
Planning is underway for the convening of a global meeting that will bring together field and head office staff in Spring 2017. Through OD support, PeaceNexus has made an experienced consultant available to Cord. He will facilitate the meeting and is currently working with the inter-departmental task group to develop the agenda and coordinate the necessary preparatory work. The outcome of the global meeting will mean Cord has a peacebduilding approach that is integrated into project cycle management, each country will be supported dependent upon their needs and context and the organization can plan towards the next five year strategy.
“PN accompany you on a journey of change, they are patient and understanding of new challenges that arise in the course of that journey, and equally probing and experienced in the process of OD to be able to make good suggestions and ask the right questions when necessary”.
