Regional Youth Cooperation Office
Stemming from the “Berlin Process” – a German initiative for regional cooperation and EU integration of the Western Balkans -, the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) is an independently functioning institutional mechanism promoting the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation among young people of the Western Balkans region. It is governed by civil society youth representatives and government representatives of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Serbia. These six governments are also co-funding the initiative.
RYCO established its secretariat in July 2017 and launched its first grant call in October. PeaceNexus has been assisting RYCO with its start-up phase, including through team retreats and support to developing the grant call. In 2018, PeaceNexus will continue its organisational development support to RYCO, including on internal procedures and grant-making.
