These include multilateral and regional organisations and large NGOs. We also support partners that are active in fragile contexts for other reasons, such as providing humanitarian aid, protecting wildlife or for commercial purposes. Through our support we help them anticipate and mitigate the risks of unintentionally exacerbating tensions in fragile environments. These partners include multilateral corporations and international organisations, both multilateral and charities.
How we work with International Partners
We work with our international partners on Organisational Development, Conflict Sensitivity, and Inclusive Dialogue with Business. When we commit to supporting an organisation, we co-develop solutions fully tailored to the specific context and the organisation’s needs.
In large bureaucracies or decentralised international organisations, we typically work with the unit that is initiating organisational change, or with those tasked with resolving a specific problem.
We start our partnerships with a visit to jointly assess the needs and help with the process design and the identification of the necessary expertise and facilitation. Once the required support is in place, we remain closely involved throughout the collaboration. From the outset, we help our counterparts plan how to scale up, replicate or mainstream the results, to ensure that other parts of the organisation can follow.
The Results of our International Partnerships
With our support, our partners have made key contributions to peacebuilding policy. Some have built institutional mechanisms and practices that allow them to deliver on their mandate more effectively. Others have reviewed their impact in conflict-affected societies and changed their operations, so their actions are more likely to contribute to peacebuilding and social cohesion.
We work with international or regional NGOs with operations in at least 5 countries.
