Participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan recently gathered for a workshop titled “Sustainable Development and Social Cohesion in Central Asia,” held in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, from 24 to 27 June 2024.
The event, filled with dynamic discussions and creative sessions, gathered a variety of participants from various walks of life to explore the complexities of regional cohesion. The event offered a platform for meaningful discussions on topics ranging from trade and security to cultural identity, with business representatives playing a key role in shifting discussions from generalizations to actionable, evidence-based solutions.
The workshop culminated in an art therapy session that revealed the shared identities and aspirations of the region’s diverse participants, and resulted in proposals for several initiatives aimed at fostering regional integration. These included attracting investment to regional business projects, promoting state languages, creating expert discussion platforms, and developing content to build a shared regional narrative.
