This was the third workshop for international partners in organisational development, bringing together our contacts within our partner organisations, consultants and PeaceNexus staff who support them. Based on their shared interest in inclusive change processes, participants identified five key learning questions and co-facilitated discussions on each of them, reflecting on their experiences through various interactive formats. A report summarises their collective reflections, focusing on important questions to ask when designing and supporting such processes.
The group found the exchange enriching and continues to support each other through monthly calls. Participants found that the ‘learning questions’ format helped them recognise the complexity of the challenges they faced, while allowing them to challenge the status quo and come up with better answers. Questions are, by definition, generative and inviting. Framing inclusion goals as learning conversations will increase the likelihood that all groups will feel a sense of belonging – and help build the buy-in needed for deep structural change.
